I am a Senior Lecturer in Law at St Mary’s University Twickenham London where I am Programme Director for the LL.M. in European Business Law (in partnership with The Catholic University of Paris) and Programme Director for the LL.M. in International Business Law.
Adjunct Professor in EU Competition Law at the Global Antitrust Institute of the Antonin Scalia Law School of Georges Mason University, I am also an affiliated scholar at the International Center for Law & Economics.
My research interests lie in the interdisciplinary study of Law & Economics (also referred as the Economic Analysis of Law ). More particularly, I am deeply interested in competition/antitrust law and economics applied to digital markets and other complex algorithm-driven companies.
From January 2017 to June 2017, I had the chance to be a Visiting Scholar at the Centre for Competition Law & Policy where I met Professor Ariel Ezrachi. Prof. Ezrachi is the co-author, with Maurice Stucke, of the influential book Virtual Competition.
Consequently, I currently work on the way to provide an optimal regulatory framework for algorithm-driven and data-laden companies which operate on digital platforms so that competition and innovation can be maximised for the benefits of the society.
My academic background is interdisciplinary as I am doctor of law from a Ph.D from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas (Sorbonne) on the ‘Principle of Economic Efficiency in the European Case-Law’ (available in French on Amazon and FNAC). I also hold a dual MSc degree in European Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Sciences Po Paris, as well as a LL.M. in Law & Economics from the Universities of Bologna (Italy), Gent (Belgium) and Hamburg (Germany). Finally, I hold a ‘Maîtrise’ (or Juris Doctor) in E.U. Law from the University of Aix-Marseille.
Before my current academic positions, I was part of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on European Governance of the Leicester De Montfort University, I taught at King’s College London, at Sciences Po Paris, at the University of Westminster, at the University of Opale Coast (‘ULCO‘) in Boulogne-sur-Mer, and at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers of Paris.
I have passed the Paris Bar Exam and practised in a commercial law firm in Paris before having opened my solo law firm in Boulogne-sur-Mer for a couple of years.
